Monday Morning
It's Monday. It's early. (It came back!) We've established all that. Today, is actually going to be quite an intense day. We have a trip to The Cave planned. What is this cave you might ask? I am sorry. It is classified info so I cannot reveal it to you. We're also going to Morrill (sp?) Hall. What is there you might ask again? I could tell you... So I will :) There is an art gallery there. Yes, I know it's not as exciting as you might have expected.
Those are pretty much the highlights of my day aside from lunch. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to try to stay awake in class now (Told you it'd come back ;)

The Result of Take Two
I got the honor of reading Greg's story. I was completely blow away. For two weeks, I thought Greg was this quiet, serious person. Boy did that change today! Gone was his somberness and out came his comedy and humor. I've read a various stories and essays before this class, but none were at Greg's level. His timing and hilarity were impeccable.
Greg, I know you're going to read this. I just want to say, again, how brilliant your story was. All the effort you put into it was clearly evident.
Aside from his own story, he read mine. The comments and ideas he gave me were wonderful. He shifted my perspective on some things and definitely helped my story become better. I will definitely keep him along with everyone else in this class in mind for editing if I ever need advice in the future :)
Peer Editing-- Take Two
Universe's Got Talent
But a while back, all this monotony began to make. Me. Sick. I got angry at myself. So I decided to become a gamer. I know. Random. But it's always been this secret passion of mine. So, once I became the biggest game maker in the galaxy, I came on this show to strut my stuff (metaphorically of course).

Who am I? Who am I?
I, am a ghost. A hungry ghost. But there is nothing that can satisfy my intense hunger. Simply nothing. Except for... a man.
I have to be honest. I'm probably not going to be a very good mother. There's a lot of restrictions put on you when you're a ghost. They tend to take away from your true nature. That is why I need the perfect man.
A man who isn't reluctant about serving me all the time. Taking care of my every need. A man who is a jock or has an elevated status. A guy who has some charisma, an uncommon characteristic these days. Someone who can take me to a utopia. A calm, serene place of tranquility. He also needs to be healthy. In flawless condition. I mean, who else is going to do everything around here? Not me. Remember the whole mother thing?
This is it. I am a ghost. A hungry ghost. But there is nothing that can satisfy my intense hunger. Simply nothing. Except for... a man.
Two Worlds Collide
A beautiful, yet awkward looking bird catches your eye as you stare at the mural. It’s turquoise blue and green. Somehow it has a slight resemblance to the bird on the “Cocoa Puffs” box. The yellow, orange beak is the same color. Around it madness ensues. A man wears a long, sky blue shirt that goes down to his feet with a red tie. His eyes are scrunched closed as he holds out a fish—almost as large as he is—to the Cocoa Puff bird. Near the offering man is an object, which looks like Pac-man. He has the same expression as the man holding the fish, but he is facing the other direction away from the gigantic, crazy bird. He’s standing on a fork, bent in all the wrong directions. The fork is up right on a plate of bacon, next to a red mug of coffee.
Happy. Fantasy. La la land. It’s the stuff you see in movies, the stuff you see in music videos. A perfect world with no problems. Peace.
One road connects the entire city. A beautiful array of pastel colors bathe it in a marvelous glow of serenity. It’s a spectacular place with every amenity necessary: hospitals, houses, vacation spots, and entertainment. There’s even a castle to represent dreams coming true. Princess and princes. The stuff of fairy tales. Everyone has something to do. A place to go or things to see.
Until the trucks come in!
“AHHHHHHHH!” the Humans screeched. “What are these things? Where did they come from? Why are they eating us?” Questions were hurled through the air like rain. They poured down, but there was no umbrella to use as a shield. With everyone speaking at once, no one could understand a thing. It was just a gigantic mess of “but I think… WHY GOD? WHY? We’re all gonna die—we’re going to die. Bird!”
That was the one word which caught everyone’s attention. And sure enough a monstrous, turquoise bird with crazed eyes was coming toward the Humans. Squawking and screeching and flapping its massive wings. Behind him was a man. He was walking as if he was blind. Running into trees, people, water hydrants. In his hands was a fish almost as large as himself. How he was carrying it was a mystery. This not so blind man was desperately trying to keep up with this bird, but it was hard to do seeing as how his eyes were shut tight, scrunched up. His hands were out stretched, offering this bird a fish. But the bird paid no attention. He was having too much fun scaring these Humans. This was the best game he’d ever played.

Cy-Tag Surprises
Stepping into this writing class was like stepping onto another planet (no joke intended). The kids in this class actually cared! This concept was completely new to me! A student who carefully looked through a paper and gave solid feedback was unheard of and unseen. It was an oxymoron.
But a wonderful one. I loved hearing the encouraging words that would come out of my peers' mouths. Their positivity and brightness was contagious :) I loved actually having solid feedback about my work. What made sense, what didn't, what was great, what needed improvement... I was pulled into their bubble of "passion for writing" and I began to enjoy myself more. Writing was no longer this stressful, excruciating, brain-wrenching, near-death task. Things began to flow and every day became an adventure for me.
It's only been a week and a half since class started.
What's to come is a mystery for me and you...
New Beginnings
This is my first Blog.
I did it for a creative writing class I'm taking this summer. I'll post my short stories, sketches, and other bits of randomness on here. I look forward to writing and commenting on your displays of brilliance!
Oh yeah...
